About Me

I am a Chartered Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Registered Counselling Psychologist accredited by the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). My registration as a Practitioner Psychologist can be checked at http://www.hcpc-uk.org/ and my charted status can be verified at http://www.bps.org.uk/bpslegacy/lcm. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at City University in London and the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Teesside University in Middlesbrough. I have experience in working within a variety of NHS and private settings with both adults and children suffering from a range of mental health difficulties including severe presentations.

I offer individual therapy and counselling to people who suffer from mental health difficulties. You can see me at my office in central Manchester or through Skype if you prefer to do so. I specialise in short term therapy and counselling and I treat children, younger adults and adults. I work as an integrative Psychologist, which means that I draw upon a variety of theories, therapies and methods, aimed at tailoring each psychotherapeutic treatment to your presentation and needs. I utilise mainly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Short-term Psychodynamic Therapy, although I use many other therapeutic approaches and techniques such as Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.

I understand that some people may find it hard to ask for help from a professional or the idea to open up for a complete stranger may feel overwhelming. As I am aware of such difficulties, I strive to provide a supportive and safe environment so that you can feel comfortable enough to engage in therapeutic work and counselling. Additionally, it is important to remember that establishing an initial contact with a psychologist may be the first step towards finally dealing with psychological difficulties which prevents you from living a fulfilling life.
