Anger Issues

Although some people describe themselves as being “an angry person”, I would argue that nobody is “born” angry and that anger does not arise of itself. Instead anger is a legitimate response to something negative that has happened to you. In spite of this logical explanation, a lot of people feel guilty about their anger, particularly when it is displaced onto other people who have nothing to do with the source of their anger. Therefore, people are generally eager to manage their anger when it’s excessively intense and frequent as it can potentially damage their relationships with others.

Treatment of Anger Issues

I recognise the importance of anger management but I also find it vital to help people identify what is the source of their anger so that that it can be understood and assimilated. Consequently, I emphasise in working through people’s anger rather than merely introducing ways to control it. If you need help with difficulties involving anger issues please contact me.
